Four Palestinians, including a child, were shot dead today by Israeli occupation forces during a surprise raid by undercover Israeli forces into the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
MoH said in a statement that four Palestinians were killed by undercover Israeli occupation soldiers who broke into downtown Jenin, while another 20 Palestinians were injured by gunfire, including four in critical condition.
Three of the four Palestinians killed by the attacking Israeli forces were identified as Omar Awadin, 16, Nedal Khazem, 28, Saleh Shreim, 29 and Louay Khalil Al-Zughair 37.
Local sources said an undercover Israeli force surreptitiously broke into the city center of Jenin during the busy hours of the day, before they assassinated the three Palestinians at point blank range.
Large-scale Israeli army force raided the city in the aftermath of the deadly Israeli shooting.
And local sources stated that the occupation’s special force was surrounded inside a store in the city center of Jenin, and the occupation army sent large reinforcements to evacuate them.
The official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that the new massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin today, Thursday, which resulted in the death and injury of many of our people, aims to detonate the situation and drag the region into a square of tension and violence, and it is a continuation of the Israeli aggression against our people.
Abu Rudeineh added that these continuous Israeli aggressive actions confirm that Israel is not at all interested in calming the situation and preventing its eruption, contrary to all international efforts seeking to prevent escalation in the holy month of Ramadan, noting that only Israel bears the consequences of these aggressive policies.
Abu Rudeineh said that condemnations are no longer enough, and what is required is practical measures on the ground by the American administration to stop the unilateral Israeli measures, and to provide international protection for our people.
The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) mourned the four martyrs of Jenin.
And Fatah stressed in a statement that the policy of “mowing the grass” practiced by the occupation will be doomed to nothing but failure, stressing that the Palestinian people will continue their struggle and resistance until their legitimate national rights are taken away, the most important of which is the right to establish an independent, sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Palestinian Authority is preparing to attend a five-party meeting next Sunday that includes the United States of America, Jordan, Egypt and the Israeli occupation.
Hamas deplored the Palestinian Authority’s declaration again of its intention to participate.
The movement’s spokesman, Hazem Qassem, called on the Palestinian Authority to reverse its decision to participate in this meeting, which only serves the occupation’s agenda to consolidate its power and control over our land.
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades in the Jenin Brigade mourned the martyrs of the Jenin massacre.
And the Brigades said in their statement, “We affirm that these huge sacrifices are not and will not be in vain, and that the brutal occupation will pay the bill for this blood, and the resistance will remain the only option for the Palestinian people.”
In it statement called on the free and honorable Palestinian people to rally around the resistance and support it by all means until this occupier is swept away from our pure land, and Jenin will remain as you entrusted it with its heroes that will not deviate from this path.
